National Association of Funeral Directors: Funeral Directors Monthly.

The growth in consumer-focused funeral director comparison websites a few years ago was driven in part by the perception as highlighted in endless media
reports and the Competition and Market Authoritiy (CMA) Investigation, of a sector that lacted transparity and madeit harder for grieving people to easily access the
facts and figures they needed in order to arrange a funeral.

Fast forward to 2022, and much has changed. The CMA's requirement for Standardised Price Lists to be published on funeral director' websites and in-branch is making it easier for the public to explore the likely costs of their planned funeral, while the increase of popularity of review sites such as Trust Pilot and Google Reviews, as well as a host of funeral-specific ones, means online reviews are also playing an important partin consumers' research and buying process. Added to that is a generally increased willingness within the funeral sector for greater accountability and transparency.
